Maybe it’s too soon to dream of a championship inaugural season, but the Brooklyn Nets’ backup dance deam — officially named the Brooklynettes — aren’t waiting for next fall’s tip-off to dance encouragement for the borough’s first major league franchise in 55 years. The final roster of 20 dancers was selected Wednesday night at the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, from nearly 400 who auditioned. The dancers “are diverse in their interests, global in their backgrounds, and cutting-edge in their style, just like Brooklyn,” said Brooklyn Nets Senior Vice President of Event Marketing and Community Relations Petra Pope.
