BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — POLICE ARRESTED A MATH TEACHER at the prestigious Saint Ann’s School in front of students Thursday, June 6, during an investigation into sexualized images shared through social media, the Daily Beast reported Friday. The Beast said that Winston Nguyen, a former Jeopardy! contestant charged in 2017 with “siphoning a large sum from an elderly couple to bankroll a lavish lifestyle,” was hired in 2020 at the highly-rated Brooklyn Heights institution. A Saint Ann’s spokesperson told the publication, “Upon his arrest on Thursday, he was immediately placed on leave by the school, and he remains on leave.” She added that the DA’s office has asked any families with information to come forward. “What in the actual hell? How did we get here?” one Saint Ann’s parent told The Daily Beast. “What does the vetting process look like? What does the background process look like?

An internal probe in 2019 uncovered multiple instances of sexual misconduct by school staff over the decades — including the brilliant but famously libertine founding headmaster Stanley Bosworth — the New York Post reported. A 2004 article about Bosworth in New York Magazine, “The Devil & Saint Ann’s,” created a sensation.
