NEW YORK CITY — EXTREME HEAT WILL hit New York State starting Monday and lasting through Friday, Gov. Kathy Hochul warned in an advisory on Friday. Even Upstate areas will suffer from “currently predicted to be the highest four-day average ever,” she said. The NYC area is predicted to have 90-degree weather, according to the Accuweather forecast on abc7. Rising humidity will make it feel several degrees hotter, with heat index values near 100 at times.

“Now, we must be cognizant of the fact that heat is the number one cause of death for weather-related fatalities here in the United States,” Hochul said. “Check on your neighbors during this extreme heat event and have water with you at all times in case you start becoming dehydrated.”
