NATIONWIDE — PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN announced this week that his administration has approved more than 1 million PACT Act claims since he signed it into law in 2022. The PACT Act helps veterans exposed to burn pits and toxic substances while serving overseas. The president’s late son, Beau Biden, died from brain cancer that Biden believes was caused by burn pit exposure. “So this is personal to me and my family and his family and his children and so many of yours,” the president said at an event celebrating the program, the Washington Examiner reports. “Come hell or high water, we’re going to protect the heroes and protect our nation.”

The Brooklyn VA Medical Center, at 800 Poly Place, recommends that veterans who want to learn more visit VA.gov/PACT or call 1-800-MyVA411 (800-698-2411).
