BROWNSVILLE – A JUNIOR FOOTBALL team from Brownsville stormed to victory at the national Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando last week, reports NY1. The Mo Better Jaguars, who play in the D2 division, defeated Georgia’s Titletown Titans 13-7 to bring the trophy home for Brooklyn. The undefeated team had help from the community to make it to the field: New Yorkers, including Junior’s owner Alan Rosen, pitched in to crowdfund $47,000 to send the Jaguars to Florida earlier this month.

Running back Ron Rollock, age 9, helped lock in the team’s victory with a one-handed catch, reports BK Reader, which has video of the incredible play. “I just had to hang on to it, make the catch. And plus, it was fourth down. I had to get the first down conversion,” Ron told NY1.
