BERGEN BEACH — THE NYPD IS SEARCHING for two suspects who are accused of a scam that turned violent after a minor car crash in Bergen Beach, News12 Brooklyn reports. Brothers Zeeshan Aamar and Usman Rafique said that two men showed up at the scene of their accident at 12:40 p.m. Friday on Avenue U and East 66th Street, wearing hoodies with a car repair company logo and insisting the men let them repair their vehicle. After they turned down the offer, one of the suspects said he worked with the police, showing the brothers a badge. After declining again, the suspects began to hit the car window and mirror. Aamar and Rafique said the men physically attacked them after they exited their vehicle, and they provided the news outlet with video to back up their story.
“I was devastated with that act like how come two guys came for help and the same two guys now assaulting us and they’re just kicking and punching us,” Rafique said to News12.
