Demolition complete for a future residential complex in Downtown Brooklyn
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — DEMOLITION AT 275 FLATBUSH AVENUE Extension has been completed, reports New York Yimby, pushing the planned five-tower development closer to the groundbreaking phase. The project area includes six lots bordering the area at the Extension and Willoughby Street corner, positioned next to a 12-story residential building on Willoughby Street. The area was formerly occupied by several single-story commercial buildings. Under current zoning, the project can cover up to 462,000 square feet. Plans call for a set of five conjoined tower buildings, standing 27 stories tall and with a total of 450 housing units.
The developer, Jacob Kohn of The Jay Group, purchased the lots adjacent to 275 Flatbush Avenue Extension for $75 million, as well as $12.5 million in air rights from 147 Pearl Street.
