RED HOOK — THE FIRST PUBLIC PLANNING WORKSHOP for the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Project — a multi-million dollar plan allowing the city to redevelop a 122-acre site which runs along the Columbia Waterfront District and Red Hook — will take place Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miccio Center on 110 West Ninth St.

The plan is heralded by officials as a means to transform BMT into a modern maritime port and mixed-use community. Attendees can learn more about the plan, the engagement process, provide feedback and speak with members of NYCEDC and WXY consultants at the workshop. The acreage is home to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal at Pier 12, the Red Hook Container Terminal at Pier 10, Piers 7-12, NYC Ferry’s Atlantic Basin stop and private tenants.

Last week, NCYEDC announced a 28-member task force and a $164 million Mega Grant from the U.S. DOT for the project.

An online information session on Aug. 12, managed by urban design firm WXY Studio and hosted by NYC Economic Development Corp., drew more than 430 participants. Register at eventbrite for tickets to Saturday’s free event.
