13 injured in Sunset Park apt fire

SUNSET PARK — 13 PEOPLE, INCLUDING two firefighters, were injured on Tuesday night in a Fifth Ave. apartment building fire, reports the Brooklyn Paper. More than 100 firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire at 8:45 p.m. and were able to bring the blaze under control by 9:50 p.m. The fire reportedly began on the second floor of the four-story mixed-use building, which houses a deli on the ground floor, and spread to the third. The 11 rescued residents, as well as the firefighters, are expected to fully recover.

The FDNY says the Fire Marshal will investigate the source of the fire.
