Brooklyn Botanic Garden stamp featured in new Postal Service series ‘American Gardens’
Those who have visited the Brooklyn Botanic Garden will appreciate the magic and whimsical beauty it brings to Brooklyn. Long touted as an oasis in the middle of Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Sakura Matsuri Festival (cherry blossom festival) is one of the highlights of Brooklyn’s springtime season.
While the park is temporarily closed to visitors, the Postal Service is proud to announce that postal customers can now send letters around the world showcasing the splendor of the BBG. Available online starting May 13, Brooklyn Botanic Garden will travel the world as a postage stamp.
The BBG sits prominently on the top left of a new stamp series titled American Gardens, featured alongside nine other stamps that celebrate botanic, country estate and municipal gardens in different states.
