Two Brooklyn judges are among the six who will be honored by the Kings County Housing Court Bar Association during its annual awards luncheon that will take place at Brooklyn Law School on June 5.

Hon. Robin Sheares and Hon. Remy Smith will be honored by the bar association along with Court Clerk Andrea Leon, Court Officer Grace Crehan and reporter Rob Abruzzese. Attorney Michelle Staco will be honored posthumously.

The Housing Court in Brooklyn has undergone a lot of changes over the past two years, particularly since the introduction of a law that guarantees low-income residents of the borough an attorney in all Housing Court manners.

The bar association will honor individuals who it feels have helped improve the practice of law during this transitional period.

For the second year in a row, the event will be held at Brooklyn Law School’s Forchelli Conference Center at 205 State Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

Anyone who plans to attend the luncheon should reach out to the group’s president Michael Rosenthal to RSVP. The event usually sells out so Rosenthal has asked anyone interested to contact him as soon as possible.
