Maimonides opens Spine Center on Bay Parkway

Brooklyn residents with back problems now have a new place to seek treatment, according to officials at Maimonides Medical Center, who recently celebrated the grand opening of a new Spine Center in Bensonhurst.
Located at 6010 Bay Parkway, the new 4,400-square-foot center offers state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatments for patients, officials said.
Kenneth Gibbs, the president and CEO of Maimondies Medical Center, Dr. Patrick Borgen, chairman of surgery and Dr. Jack Choueka, chairman of orthopedics, took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the facility’s opening.
“Our new Spine Center brings the highest level of expertise to the communities we serve. This is already contributing to the growing trend of patients staying right here in Brooklyn for the most advanced care available anywhere,” Gibbs said in a statement.
Maimonides Medical Center officials said the new center offers a full array of medical services dealing with spinal issues, including: neurodiagnostics, imaging (CT Scans and MRI), fluoroscopy, EMG and Nerve Conduction Studies.
The goal is to deliver the least invasive treatment for spinal patients, officials said.
“The Maimonides Spine Center offers advanced minimally-invasive, image-guided spine surgery, with an unprecedented precision that speeds recovery time, minimizes scarring and reduces the need for medication after surgery,” Borgen said.
The new facility “provides all of the most advanced imaging and diagnostic equipment — all under one roof in a stunning setting,” Choueka boasted.
“Our comprehensive Spine Center significantly enhances the delivery of spine care in Brooklyn. And our team approach ensures that each patient gets the benefit of our collective knowledge and experience,” said Dr. Ahmed Saleh, an orthopedic spine surgeon.
Maimonides Medical Center, a 711-bed hospital is located at 4810 10th Ave. in Borough Park, is an affiliate of Northwell Health.
