150 couples celebrate over 50 years of marriage at Borough Hall
Brooklyn couples that were struck by Cupid’s arrow over five decades ago were treated to the annual Brooklyn Golden Couples event, a celebration hosted by Borough President Eric Adams.
Held at Borough Hall on Friday, February 13, just a day before Valentine’s Day, the afternoon event featured over 150 couples who have been married for at least 50 years or more, equal to over 8,000 combined years of marriage.
“Brooklyn’s Golden Couples are a shining example of the power of love and commitment for happy, healthy lives,” said Adams, who congratulated the couples for the dedication they have shown to each other, as well as voicing his support for Brooklyn’s senior community. “Celebrations like these remind us of the values of family that make our borough an inviting place for all lovers, both young and young at heart.”
