CLINTON HILL — THE NYPD IS INVESTIGATING an incident involving a Black teen and younger Jewish youths as a hate crime. Both the NYPD and the Daily News chronicled the incident, which happened last Sunday around 9 p.m. near Franklin and Myrtle avenues in Clinton Hill, and which was captured on surveillance video. A male teen riding a Citi Bike approached a group of children who were playing tag on a public sidewalk, and the teen, estimated to be around 18-20 years old, yelled to them to get out of the way. Although he then rode off, he returned to the scene, watched the children for a while before approaching a 13-year-old and another kid, age 11, and shoved them each in turn to the ground. The children had tried to scramble out of the biker’s way before he assaulted the 11-year-old.

THE NYPD has released the video in the hopes that members of the public might recognize and help law enforcement locate him. He is described as having a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black and white striped shirt, light blue jeans and white sneakers with stripes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
