Public safety meeting will explore ways to empower youths

SOUTHEASTERN BROOKLYN — GODSQUAD/THE 67TH PRECINCT CLERGY COUNCIL will be participating in a public safety conversation to enable a violence-free summer, as part of Assembly District 58’s monthly community meeting this Saturday, May 18. GodSquad will chair the AD 58 Public Safety Taskforce with Special Guest NYPD First Deputy Commissioner Tania Kinsella for a crucial discussion to gather ideas and insights from the community. The meeting’s goal is to “collaboratively create a safe and vibrant summer while addressing the pressing issue of gun violence and supporting survivors.” Strategies involve offering job opportunities, programs and resources for adults and youths alike to promote both public safety and empowerment.

Sponsors include the East Flatbush Community Partnership, My Time Inc., which supports parents of children with autism; One Brooklyn Health, Brooklyn Community Boards 9, 16, 17 and 18; NYPD Brooklyn Precincts 63, 67, 69, 71 and 73; NYS Office of Gun Violence Prevention; NYS Office of Mental Health; NYC Dept. of Youth and Community Development; and other agencies.
