Downtown Brooklyn’s Summer@MetroTech series to feature rooftop films, BEAT Festival and more
Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC) has announced the return of Summer@MetroTech, a summer-long cultural and entertainment festival, bringing free music, movies, activities and televised sporting events to Downtown Brooklyn’s MetroTech Commons.
This year’s programming will feature an outdoor movie series from Rooftop Films, the return of the BEAT Festival, Bastille Day celebrations, broadcasts of premier sporting events and the City Parks Foundation’s Putting Challenge. This second annual summer series builds on the success of the popular BAM R&B Festival, which is celebrating its 20th year on the Commons.
“This is going to be an exciting summer for Downtown Brooklyn as Summer@MetroTech helps BAM ring the 20th anniversary of the R&B Music Festival at the MetroTech Commons,” said MaryAnne Gilmartin, president and CEO of FCRC. “Whether it’s a live R&B performance, a sporting event, or an outdoor movie, Summer@MetroTech has something for everyone.”
