WILLIAMSBURG — CONSTRUCTION at 285 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg is transforming a former two-story commercial site into a four-story residential building, New York YIMBY reported Monday, March 31. Designed by Nikolai Katz, Architect for Mendel Fleischman’s The Garden Bond, the 75-foot steel-framed structure between Roebling and Driggs streets has topped out and is now draped in scaffolding. The project will include eight rental units with balconies, a garage, commercial space and a rear yard.

Once a white-fronted commercial spot, it’s slated for completion by winter 2025, adding to Brooklyn’s evolving rental stock amid Williamsburg’s relentless growth.
