Christmas Eve subway track fire injures 4 in Brooklyn Heights

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Four passengers were injured at the A/C High Street station in Brooklyn Heights on Sunday after a fire caused by debris broke out on the tracks as a train arrived. 

The call came in at 6:24 p.m., according to FDNY. 

Multiple fire companies and EMS vehicles responded, closing down Cadman Plaza West and High Street station for more than an hour.

Passengers were evacuated and several were given oxygen before they were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

Firefighters got the fire under control at 7:41 p.m. The incident remains under investigation, according to FDNY.
