The Latino Court Officers Society, in collaboration with several notable organizations, has launched an initiative to bring holiday cheer to over 450 children in New York.

Partnering with the Guardians Association, the Emerald Society, the Asian Jade Society, the Columbia Society, the Sankofa Society and the Tribune Society, this event aims to fulfill the Christmas wishes of children from migrant backgrounds and those residing in a family shelter in Queens.

This year’s Holiday Cheer-Giving Event is open for volunteering from anyone interested, regardless of membership status in these societies. Over 100 migrant children at a middle school and more than 350 children at the Parkwood Family Residence in Queens are participating by writing letters to Santa, listing two items they wish to receive.

The children’s letters are expected to arrive by early December. Volunteers will be matched with a child and will receive a copy of their letter, along with instructions for purchasing and shipping the gifts. A monetary limit of $50 per gift is suggested to ensure equity in giving.

Dennis Duque, treasurer of the Latino Court Officers Society Inc., is available for any inquiries regarding the event at [email protected]. This initiative not only brings joy to children during the festive season but also provides an opportunity for community members to engage in meaningful support for those in need.
