NYC Principals’ Union endorses Nikki Lucas for re-election in Brooklyn’s 60th Assembly District

Lucas Receives the Endorsement of The Council of School Supervisors (CSA) for Brooklyn’s 60th AD for the June 2022 Primary Election

Today, it was announced that The Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA) has endorsed Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas for re- election in Brooklyn’s 60th Assembly District. The 60th Assembly District covers East New York, Starrett City, Brownsville, and Canarsie.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement from CSA. I have always been an advocate for education. Support for principals, teachers, parents and our children is important as we move forward together to bring equitable education resources to our community”, said Lucas. “I am humbled to have the confidence of CSA and its members.”

The CSA thanked Lucas for her steadfast support of CSA and her hard work to improve education in New York.

About CSA: CSA represents more than 16,000 in-service and retired Principals, Assistant Principals, Education Administrators and Early Childhood Education Directors and Assistant Directors.

About Nikki Lucas: Nikki Lucas is the Assembly Member for the 60th Assembly District, covering East New York, Starrett City, Canarsie, and Brownsville. Lucas won the seat in a Special election in February 2022 with an overwhelming victory, with over 80% of the voters casting their vote for Lucas.

In her first two months in office the Assemblywoman sponsored legislation to expand protections for victims of domestic violence, which passed with an unanimous vote from Democrats and Republicans. The bill was signed by Governor Hochul. Lucas also co-sponsored legislation for a bill for to support tenants in Mitchel Lama housing, and she co-sponsored a discount program for senior citizens and people with disabilities.

As a 30-year resident of Starrett City and an advocate for East New York residents, Ms. Lucas has implemented many programs and initiatives that continue to uplift and empower residents throughout Brooklyn and citywide.
