Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is cooperating with federal prosecutors after pleading guilty to multiple felonies and saying he joined a violent New York City gang and helped others try to kill a rival gang member.

Information regarding the plea bargain was unsealed in Manhattan Federal Court on Friday.

During the plea, 6ix9ine, 22, said he joined the Nine Trey Blood Gang in fall 2017. He says he helped gang members try to kill a rival last March.

Troubles with 6ix9ine, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, sparked in 2015 when he pleaded guilty for performing a sexual act with a 13-year-old in Manhattan when he was 19.

In May, he was busted in Bedford-Stuyvesant for allegedly assaulting a police officer. Soon after this arrest, 6ix9ine was extradited to Texas for assaulting a 16-year-old in January 2018. In July, 6ix9ine was followed to his Bushwick home from CityScapes stripclub in Middle Village, where he was pistol whipped and robbed.

In October, his house was raided by the FBI for his criminal enterprise charges related to his gang affiliations. With his deal, 6ix9ine can gain leniency at sentencing from an otherwise mandatory minimum 47 years in prison if he admits to all crimes and testified truthfully.

Attorney Dawn Florio says 6ix9ine’s safety is a chief concern after threats against him.
