The two restaurateurs who reopened the Long Island Bar on Atlantic Avenue in 2013, have now opened a new bar and restaurant in Fort Greene.

This time, according to the Brooklyn Paper, the duo, Joel Tompkins and Toby Cecchini, have built their new eatery from the ground up. Tompkins describes the interior of the new bar, known as Rockwell Place, as being “sort of an industrial modern space with furniture touches from the 1950s and 1960s.”

Tompkins described the menu at Rockwell Place as being more haute cuisine than that at the Long Island Bar, the Brooklyn Paper said. For example, Rockwell Place doesn’t serve burgers and fries.

Rockwell Place is around the corner from the BAM Harvey Theater, and Tompkins and Cecchini believe that it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a neighborhood fixture for Fort Greene the same way the Long Island Bar is for Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights.

Rockwell Place is located at 31 Rockwell Place between DeKalb Avenue and Fulton Street.
