New 30-story apartment tower coming to Bensonhurst

Permits have been filed for a new 30-story residential building at 1625 Shore Parkway in Bensonhurst between the Belt Parkway and Cropsey Avenue.
The building’s site is about three blocks from Bensonhurst Park and three avenues away from the D train’s Bay Parkway station, according to New York YIMBY. The building will also be near Caesar’s Bay Shopping Center, which includes big-box stores like BJ’s Wholesale, Best Buy and Modell’s Sporting Goods.
The low-rise neighborhood, which is historically Italian-American but now also has many Asian residents, rarely sees new residential buildings.
Apartments will average 1,145 square feet apiece, which likely points to condos, New York YIMBY said.
Shore Towers Brooklyn, an LLC owned by developer LandPex, is listed as the owner, New York YIMBY reported. David West of Hill West Architects is the building’s designer.
