Three people, including two innocent bystanders, were shot in broad daylight on a busy Downtown Brooklyn shopping street just after lunch hour on Friday, at roughly 1:45 p.m.

The shooting took place on Fulton Street near Gallatin Place in front of the GAP Outlet Store.

Police say an argument between a group of five people and a 28-year-old man may have led to the shooting. Following an exchange of words, one member of the group allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot the man, also shooting a 31-yer-old man happening by the scene and a 27-year-old woman who, according to NBC News, had just left a job interview.

The group of five then ran south on Gallatin Street toward Livingston Street.

The victims, who all survived, were transported to New York Methodist Hospital and The Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Police and ambulances quickly converged on the scene as a police helicopter buzzed overhead. Three shell casings were recovered, police said. What appeared to be a mangled bullet on the sidewalk was marked by a small red NYPD cone with the number 4 on it.

Police were still looking for the perpetrator, who was wearing a white hat and red shorts, at 6 p.m. Friday.
