Local credit union celebrates another banner year
The Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union celebrated another year of successes at the organization’s annual meeting, held on Wednesday, April 11 at the Bay Ridge Manor.
The credit union — which was founded in 1934 — “funds the American dream,” according to Supervisory Committee member Charles Capetanakis, through the loans it gives to businesses seeking to expand and individuals looking to make home improvements, pay for an education or buy a home.
In 2017, according to credit union President Anthony Grigos, the organization made approximately 1,200 loans, amounting to $28.6 million.
