NEW DELHI — Mother Joins Protest: The mother, center, of the victim of the fatal 2012 gang rape that shook the country, arrives to lend her support at a protest on Monday. Scores of people protested the release of a juvenile convicted in the fatal gang rape of a young woman aboard a moving bus. The convict, who was short of his 18th birthday at the time of the crime, finished his three-year term in a reform home on Sunday.

BEIRUT — Funeral Attracts Masses: Hezbollah fighters carry the coffin of Hezbollah high-profile militant Samir Kantar during his funeral procession on Monday. Thousands of people have gathered for the funeral of Kantar, who the group says was killed by an Israeli airstrike near the Syrian capital. Hezbollah said Kantar, who spent 30 years in an Israeli prison for murder, was killed Saturday along with eight others in the airstrike on a residential building in Jaramana, close to Damascus.
