Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 274th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1926, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Democrats Begin to Campaign Here on Next Monday.”

The article focused on the beginning of the Democratic rallies in the borough.

“The Democratic campaign in Brooklyn for the reelection of Gov. Al Smith, Supreme Court Justice Robert F. Wagner, candidate for the United States Senate, and the rest on the state and local tickets will open with an old-fashioned, red fire political rally at Prospect Hall,” the Eagle reported.
