Hey Drea, welcome to Bay Ridge
Sopranos actress to star in new NBC drama with Jennifer Lopez, Ray Liotta
“Sopranos” actress Drea de Matteo hit the streets of Bay Ridge Wednesday afternoon — or more specifically, 68th Street.
She was dressed in a denim shirt and was wearing a badge — for her role as Detective Tess Nazario in a new TV cop drama, “Shades of Blue,” also starring superstar singer and actress Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta of “Goodfellas” fame.
The NBC TV series, which J.Lo is executive-producing, started location filming last week in New York City neighborhoods including Astoria, Queens.
It is set to begin airing in early 2016.
De Matteo looked right at home on the normally quiet residential block, which swarmed with film crews and extras.
In the scene she shot, her character made a visit to a home where an ambulance has made a stop to pick up a victim of some messy injury, judging from the makeup on the person playing the victim’s role.
Our thanks to Bay Ridge resident Tony Ciccotto, who graciously provided these photos.
