Brooklyn artists’ group shows at Coney
The arts and sciences were under one roof on Thursday, January 22 as the Brooklyn Streetcar Artists’ Group (BSAG) brought its Autumns Past exhibition of fine art, to Coney Island Hospital.
The exhibit highlighted at the opening reception features works from several different artists belonging to the BSAG, a group whose mission is to “create opportunities for artists and art lovers of all ages.” The group also doubles as a non-for-profit organization and is part of the 501 (c) (3) non-profit Brooklyn City Streetcar Company, Inc.
“It went very well,” said Arthur Melnick, executive director of BSAG, about Thursday’s opening. “We have about 20 active artists, we have members who’ve been with us forever, since day one, and we have some who come and go.”
