Author of ‘Jewish Soul Food’ book to speak in Brooklyn Heights

Laura Silver, author of “Knish: In Search of the Jewish Soul Food” (Brandeis Univ. Press, 2014), will speak at the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library on Jan. 13.

“Knish” has been featured on NPR, WNYC, and in the New York Times, where it was called “a whimsical, mouthwatering and edifying odyssey through New York and beyond.”

The Friends of the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library will be selling Silver’s book, and the author — who is considered an expert on the knish — will sign books. Refreshments will be served.

The Jan. 13 event will begin at 6:15 p.m. The Brooklyn Heights Branch Library is located at 280 Cadman Plaza West in Brooklyn Heights.
