Nov. 24, birthdays for Katherine Heigl, Oscar Robertson, Sarah Hyland
Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 328th day of the year.
ON THIS DAY in 1912, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Furlong Arrested on Forgery Charge.” The article focused on forgery charges against the former magistrate. He was taken to jail before his trial.
“Former City Magistrate Henry J. Furlong was arrested last night in Ramsay, N.J., by two men from Brooklyn Police Headquarters on a warrant charging him with forgery in the first degree,” the Eagle reported. “The alleged forgery was committed in connection with the deed to a piece of property on Eastern Parkway, and it is charged that Furlong forged the name of his wife to the deed.”
NOTABLE PEOPLE born on this day include “Winter’s Bone” actor Garret Dillahunt, who was born in 1964; “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Katherine Heigl, who was born in 1978; New York City-born “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland, who was born in 1990; “My Three Sons” actor Stanley Livingston, who was born in 1950; hockey player Keith Primeau, who was born in 1971; Hall of Fame basketball player Oscar Palmer Robertson, who was born in 1938; “Fat Man and Little Boy” actor Dwight Schultz, who was born in 1947; comedian and actor Brad Sherwood, who was born in 1964; and basketball coach and former player Rudolph Tomjanovich, who was born in 1948.
