Cars Against Cancer auto show a success
For cancer survivor Cheryl Schafer, the Maimonides Breast Cancer Center’s annual Cars Against Cancer Auto Show is more than just another Sunday afternoon, just like the South Brooklyn cancer center is more than just another doctor’s office.
“I just fell into their hands,” said Schafer, a patient that Doctor Patrick Borgen said the odds were against five years ago. “The Maimonides Breast Cancer Center was a godsend.”
Schafer was just one of many survivors – and their supporters – that gathered in the front lot of the center on Sunday, September 7 to participate in the second annual Cars Against Cancer Auto Show, hosted by the Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation to raise money for the center.
