A Brooklyn man who admitted he offered a teenage girl $500,000 to leave the country instead of testifying in a sex abuse trial against her former spiritual counselor has been sentenced to four months in jail.

Abraham Rubin apologized and said he’d made a terrible mistake as he was sentenced Friday in Brooklyn.

The 50-year-old Rubin offered the bribe to the girl and her now-husband in 2012. He told them justice would be better served if they didn’t testify in the case against Nechemya Weberman.

Weberman was a highly respected counselor in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. After his arrest, the community rallied around him, and many people intimidated his accuser.
