The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival (AoBFF) launches its third annual festival on Wednesday, May 15, at two Brooklyn venues: St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights and St. Joseph College in Fort Greene.

The festival showcases emerging filmmakers who are Brooklyn-born, Brooklyn-based and Brooklyn-centric.

“That means cast or crew were born and raised here, or now live and work here,” according to AoBFF. “We also screen films from across the country and around the world that were shot in or inspired by Brooklyn. We welcome every community and zip code in Kings County to enter and attend the festival. “

The AoBFF plans to screen 40 premieres from May 15 – 19 at St. Francis College’s Founders Hall and Maroney Theaters (180 Remsen Street), and St. Joseph College’s Tuohy Hall Theater (245 Clinton Avenue).

Premiers include “Rescue! Brooklyn;” “Casual Encounters;” American Bomber;” “How to Make Movies at Home;” “If These Knishes Could Talk” and “5 Senses of Fear.” (Trailers here.)

Be prepared to be scared at St. Joseph’s “The Dark Side: A Night of Suspense and Horror.” Three spine-tingling new indie horror short films build to the world premiere of Chiller TV’s first original horror anthology film, “Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear.”

Afterward the Q&A will include Shane O’Brien, the Senior Director of Programming and Development for cable’s Chiller TV and Fangoria Magazine’s legendary Editor Emeritus (and Brooklyn native). Tony Timpone will moderate.

All-Access Festival Passes includes admission to all screenings and events including Opening and Closing Night parties. For more information see www.aobff.org.
