BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A discussion of the expanding presence of Polytechnic Institute of New York University (known locally as NYU-Poly) in MetroTech in Downtown Brooklyn will take place at the next luncheon meeting of the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) in Brooklyn Heights.
This is the first of the Roundtable’s four quarterly events for 2012 — its sixth year — and will feature Lynne Brown, senior vice president for university relations and public affairs at NYU, as one of four speakers.
Other speakers will include:
• Joshua Muss, principal of Muss Development, who will discuss the transformation of the first two floors at 345 Adams St. and the future of retail in Downtown Brooklyn;
• Michael Pintchik, president of Pintchik, who will describe plans to develop Flatbush Avenue and the revival of this area; and
• Bob Sanna, executive vice president at Forest City Ratner Companies, who will provide an update on the development and construction of Barclays Center.
Deborah Schwartz, president of the BHS — beneficiary of the funds raised at the four luncheons — will be on hand to welcome attendees. In her remarks at the last luncheon of 2011 in November, Schwartz noted that it’s been five years for the Roundtable, 150 years for the Brooklyn Historical Society and 400 years of Brooklyn history.
The Feb. 7 luncheon will take place at noon. The Brooklyn Historical Society is at 128 Pierrepont St., corner of Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights.
To reserve a space for one or all of the Roundtable’s quarterly programs, contact Taina Sanon at 347-381-3705, or [email protected].
