Roberta’s opens Midtown location in Penn Station

WILLIAMSBURG — ROBERTA’S, A WELL-KNOWN BROOKLYN PIZZERIA that originated in Bushwick and has multiple locations in the borough, opened a new location in Manhattan’s One Penn Plaza. The new two-story venue features an indoor dining room and an expansive rooftop patio, offering the same wood-fired pizzas and Italian dishes that made the original Bushwick location famous, since its establishment in 2007 in a cinderblock space. The pizza became famous and can be found in the frozen-goods section of Whole Foods, according to a 2015 New York Times feature article. At one point, the original founders went their separate ways, but Roberta’s has since expanded to several cities, including Singapore, according to its website.
Despite the journey across the East River, the Manhattan outpost aims to bring a unique dining experience to the area, offering travelers and workers in the Central Business District a taste of Brooklyn.
