Since opening in December 2023, Flop House Comedy Club has become a neighborhood favorite in Williamsburg. Founded by comedians/brothers Nick and Nate Hopping and friend Austin Locke, the new club offers amazing lineups at affordable prices, with no drink minimums.

‘Stories That Connect Us’ presented by Urban Bush Women

Urban Bush Women (UBW) is a Brooklyn-based dance-theater company with a woman-centered perspective from members of the African diaspora. Their performance/workshop “Stories That Connect Us,” is set for this Friday at the Apple Store in Williamsburg, and will focus on ideas of wellness, lineage and liberation, according to the event page.

“UBW affects the overall ecology of the arts by promoting artistic legacies; projecting the voices of the under-heard and people of color; bringing attention to and addressing issues of equity in the dance field and throughout the United States; and by providing platforms and serving as a conduit for culturally and socially relevant experimental art makers.” – University of Denver

Brooklyn Museum is offering their second Teen Night of the year, a program led by teens themselves, with a focus on art and activism. This Friday will feature games and discussions on the history of zines, opportunities to create your own zines and art, snacks and performances from poets and musicians.

Drag Performer and Artist JizzaBella hosts Bingo night, which features performances, hot dogs and a Bingo card with every drink purchase.

On Wednesdays, Drag Bingo takes place at The Watershed in Carroll Gardens, and on Thursdays at Minnie’s Bar in Sunset Park. Prizes will be sponsored by Queerazon.com. This event is for those 21 and up.

Sheepshead Bay Game Hour & Other Events @ Bklyn Public Library

Thursday, March 28 @ 3:30pm and other dates/times

Every Thursday, 3:30 to 4:30 pm, kids ages 7-12 are invited to come to the Sheepshead Bay Library for Game Hour. They can battle their peers or play solo, on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, or with Board Games.

On Wednesday and Thursday from 11am to 4pm, the library is offering Grab and Go Activity Craft Bags, with a surprise gift, puzzle and stickers for children to play with in each bag.

Thursday from 4pm to 5pm, instructor Vladimir Mazo is offering a Chess Workshop for all levels, and a Knitting and Crochet group for adults is ongoing every Friday from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the library’s meeting room.

Alamo Drafthouse, which offers a dine-in movie-going experience in Downtown Brooklyn, is offering a special limited edition menu for screenings of the new “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” film, released on March 22.

Special drinks include the Kids’ Proton Punch, Ecto Boozer, Ectoplasmic Residue and Stay Puft Shake. While the drinks will end after Wednesday, the movie will continue screening into April.
