District Attorney Eric Gonzalez led the first-ever Diwali celebration hosted by the District Attorney’s Office at CUNY City Tech, embracing cultural diversity and fostering community relations. The Festival of Lights, a cornerstone in the Hindu calendar, was commemorated with traditional festivities and a message of unity.
ADA Iris Das initiated the program, setting the stage for President Russell K. Hotzler of CUNY City Tech, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees. MC Kala Rama introduced DA Gonzalez, who, in the spirit of the festival, lit a Diya alongside honorees, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness.
United States Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma served as the keynote speaker, providing remarks that resonated with the multicultural audience. A captivating performance by Sundari: Zaman the International Dancer followed, infusing the evening with traditional artistry.
