Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn issues the following statement on the General Election preliminary results:

“I congratulate the projected election winners across Brooklyn and New York City. The Brooklyn Democratic Party looks forward to working with our victorious newly-elected and re-elected Democratic officials in the New York City Council, Kings County Civil CourtSupreme Court and Surrogate Court.”

SUSAN ZHUANG WINS COUNCIL DISTRICT 43 

(Parts of Sunset Park, Borough Park and Bensonhurst)

We laud the four Democratic victors of countywide Civil Court Judge seats in the election:

  • Monique J. Holaman, Esq. 
  • Linda Wilson, Esq.
  • Betsey Jean-Jacques, Esq.

We also applaud the four winners of open seats for municipal Civil Court: 

  • Rena Malik, Esq. (1st Municipal Court District)
  • Lola Waterman, Esq. (2nd Municipal Court District)
  • Babatunde Akowe, Esq. (2nd Municipal Court District)
  • Javier Ortiz, Esq. (3rd Municipal Court District)

 

SURROGATE COURT, KINGS COUNTY:

Additionally, we congratulate Hon. Bernard J. Graham (Acting Surrogate Court Judge), who was endorsed by the Party, for winning the open seat for Surrogate Court, Kings County.
