Remix Market opens Brooklyn location in Industry City
INDUSTRY CITY — Remix Market, a secondhand shop selling a variety of home furnishings, art, home goods, and more, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this past Friday, commemorating the opening of its newest store in Brooklyn’s Industry City.
The company is rooted in helping keep reusable items out of landfills, according to Josh Cohen, its founder and president, adding that most of the merchandise comes from people’s homes and businesses — “stuff that they are getting rid of,” Cohen said, “which are then brought back to life for folks to buy at heavily discounted prices.
“In that respect, it’s good for the economy, because there are a lot of people struggling to buy things these days,” he added. “We’re also creating jobs in every store that we open.”
