BROOKLYN — The Brooklyn Bar Association and the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Associations both held Women’s History Month events last week where they celebrated some of the borough’s own legal legends.

The BBA held their event on Wednesday, March 15, where it honored a group of its past presidents including Hon. Nancy Sunshine, RoseAnn Branda, Aimee Richter, Andrea Bonina and Diana Szochet during a panel where each of them discussed their presidency and what it was like for them at the helm of the association.

Two days later, the BWBA invited and honored Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, a State Assemblymember and head of the Kings County Democratic Party. BWBA President Susan Mauro admitted that she hasn’t known Bichotte Hermelyn for long, but was immediately impressed by the 50-year-old new mother, who is in her third year at Brooklyn Law School, and running one of the biggest local political parties in the country.
