ITALY — Drought: Boats lay on the dried riverbed at a tourist dock along the Po river in Torricella, northern Italy, on Thursday. Italy’s drought dried up rivers crucial for irrigation, threatening some €3 billion in agriculture, according to Italian farm lobby Coldiretti. Italy’s confederation of agricultural producers, Copagri, estimated the loss of 30%-40% of the seasonal harvest.
