Googoosh delivered old hits and songs from her new album to a packed stadium on Thursday in Dubai — just across the Persian Gulf from her home that banned her from singing for 21 years and where authorities to this day continued to protest her performances.

BRAZIL — Protest: Demonstrators protested holding their belongings wrapped in plastic bags, demanding the extension of a moratorium on evictions in Sao Paulo, on Thursday. The demonstrators demanded that the country’s Supreme Court extend a moratorium on evictions imposed during the pandemic that is due to expire at the end of March, potentially affecting tens of thousands of low-income families.
