ROMANIA — Flowers for women: A Romanian Immigration officer gave flowers to a refugee fleeing the conflict from neighboring Ukraine after she crossed the border on International Women’s Day, at the Romanian-Ukrainian border, in Siret, on Tuesday. It was a global day to celebrate women, but many fleeing Ukrainians felt only the stress of finding a new life for their children as husbands, brothers, and fathers stayed behind to defend their country from Russia’s invasion.
