CZECH REPUBLIC — Carp catch: Fishermen on a small boat took part in the traditional fish haul of the Buzice pond near the town of Blatna, on Thursday. Each autumn, Czech fishermen get into the serious business of a century-long tradition of catching carp for Christmas markets. Czechs consider the fish a delicacy, and many cannot imagine the festive season without it.

Indonesians looked ahead warily toward the upcoming holiday travel season, anxious for critical tourist spending but at the same time worried that an influx of millions of visitors could lead to a new coronavirus wave just as the pandemic seems to be getting better.
