CHINA — Testing: A medical worker took a swab sample from a worker from the China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) company in a gym during a round of COVID-19 testing in Wuhan on Thursday. More than 30 Chinese officials have been fired or received other punishments over accusations they failed to respond properly to the latest surge of the coronavirus in the country.

FRANCE — Protest: A protester marched with a sign during a demonstration in Marseille, on Saturday. Thousands of people marched in Paris and other French cities for a fourth consecutive week of protests against COVID-19 entrance requirements. The demonstrations on Saturday came days after France’s Constitutional Council upheld most provisions of a new law that expands the locations where health passes are needed.
