More than 30 Chinese officials have been fired or received other punishments over accusations they failed to respond properly to the latest surge of the coronavirus in the country.

FRANCE — Protest: A protester marched with a sign during a demonstration in Marseille, on Saturday. Thousands of people marched in Paris and other French cities for a fourth consecutive week of protests against COVID-19 entrance requirements. The demonstrations on Saturday came days after France’s Constitutional Council upheld most provisions of a new law that expands the locations where health passes are needed.
