
Cargo sailboat heads to Brooklyn with mushroom log cargo — arrives July 30

SCHOONER APOLLONIA SHINDIG DETAILS
At the RETI Center Blue City Barge — at Gowanus Bay Terminal (GBX), Red Hook.
Morning — 10 – 11 am – offloading of over 10,000 pounds of red oak logs for growing shiitake mushrooms – will be delivered via electric cargo bike and trailer (solar powered) from the ship to Red Hook Farms in conjunction with Cornell Small Farms program.
Afternoon — ship’s crew goes out with the e-bike and trailer to pick up cargos bound for ports upriver:
- Bulk coffee from Gotham Roasters in Red Hook (bound for Kingston’s Half Moon Rondout Cafe)
- Individual coffee from Stone Street Coffee in Gowanus (bound upriver)
- Tea boxes from Mirror Tea House in Gowanus (bound for various ports upriver)
Late afternoon — ship’s crew available if people want to stop by to pick up pre-ordered sail freight goods from upriver producers (honey, hot sauce, cider, maple syrup, rolling papers, soap, etc.)

- Individual pre-order sail freight cargo orders for in-person pickup at the barge
- General sail freight goods from upriver producers for sale
- Mushroom Growing Demo, Cornell Small Farms Team – 5:15-5:45 pm
- Music by Red Hook favorite Jackson Lynch – 6-7 pm
- Sandwiches for sale by Court Street Grocers
- Beer made with sail freight malt and shipped downriver by sail freight from Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon
- Specialty postcards from Squid Bath to send to friends via SAIL MAIL in upriver ports along the Hudson
