PALESTINE — Eid al-Adha: Palestinian women prepared sweets ahead of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, in the West Bank city of Nablus, on Monday. Eid al-Adha, or Feast of Sacrifice, Islam’s most important holiday marked the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham to Christians and Jews) to sacrifice his son, begins on Tuesday with Muslims slaughtering animals and celebrating the end of their annual hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

LOUISIANA — Celebration: Zaila Avant-garde, the 14-year-old who recently won the Scripps National Spelling Bee, second-lined with Zulu warriors during a celebration in her honor on Sunday, in Harvey.
