UKRAINE — Blackout: An elderly COVID-19 patient breathed with the help of an oxygen mask at a hospital in the frontline town of Krasnohorivka, near Donetsk, on Wednesday. Hospital workers said that Tuesday night an artillery shell exploded outside the COVID-19 ward, shattering windows and cutting the electricity.

SERBIA — Vaccinated: Popular folk singer Jelena Karleusa who was previously known as a vaccination critic, spoke to the media after receiving her vaccination, in the Usce shopping mall in Belgrade on Thursday. The Serbian government promised a payment of around 25 euros to everyone who gets vaccinated by the end of May as an incentive for people to get vaccinated.
