The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association is hosting an installation ceremony via Zoom on Tuesday night to officially install Natoya McGhie as its new president.

McGhie, a principal court attorney for Hon. Jane Tully, is a graduate of John Jay College and New York Law School. She initially joined the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association at the suggestion of her former boss, Justice Nancy Bannon, and has quickly worked her way up through the ranks.

The event will give members a chance to say thank you to Meryl Schwartz, the immediate past president, as the association never got an opportunity to host its annual awards dinner due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other officers to be installed include President-elect Madeline Kirton; Vice Presidents Lisa Michael, Jovia Radix and Sue Novick Wasko; Treasurer Betsey Jean-Jacques; Corresponding Secretary Catherine Gonzalez; and Recording Secretary Lauren Arnel.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 on Tuesday, June 16. For more information and to sign up to attend the event go to www.BrooklynWomensBar.org.
